Dos and don’ts of back-to-school skin care

Published by Author under Acne Care, Acne Treatment

back-to-school-skin-careThe stress teenagers experience in the first weeks of the new school year can leave its mark – literally.

Clearing up acne-prone skin is mission-critical for back-to-school. Adopting a skin-smart approach with a few simple steps can help keep breakouts at bay.

“Top priority is establishing and maintaining a daily skin care routine,” said Antonella Fiedler, business manager for Galderma. “Dermatologists tend to recommend a three-step approach that involves cleansing with a gentle foaming cleanser, treating with an acne-bacteria-fighting gel like Benzoyl Peroxide and hydrating with an ultra-light moisturizing lotion.”

Cetaphil Acne Principles is an example of a simple three-step system that helps attain clearer skin and takes the guess work out of product selection. The treatment is available in a starter kit and is also sold separately. The key to success is incorporating a daily skin care routine – so remember to be proactive when trying to avoid breakouts.

While closely adhering to a skin care regimen is essential, here are a few other important tips to keep in mind:

• Wash your face gently and avoid harsh scrubbing. This can irritate skin and lead to additional breakouts.

• Don’t pick and squeeze blemishes. This won’t clear up skin any faster and may spread the problem deeper into the skin, which can lead to scarring.

• Maintain a daily skin care routine for a normal healthy skin state. Treat acne regularly and prevent it from getting worse.

Although teenagers experience stress during the first few weeks of school, acne doesn’t have to be one of them. Following a dermatologist-recommended skin care routine in the morning and at night is the best way for teenagers to begin the year acne-free.

Nipping acne in the bud

Published by Author under Acne Care, Acne Cure

face-washing-skin-care-300x200(NC)—If you suffer from acne, you are not alone. Acne is a common skin disorder that occurs when oil glands produce more oil and stick together instead of shed. This combination of oil and skin cells can create clogged pores. These are characterized as blackheads and whiteheads or outbreaks of pimples, nodules and cysts. Acne can be mild to moderate or in some cases, severe.

Acne can affect anyone at any stage in life, but it is primarily found in adolescents. A good way to take a stance in the fight against acne is to practice preventative measures. Keep the following in mind:

• Wash your face to remove make-up before going to bed each night

• Be gentle with your skin, do not scrub your face

• Seek medical treatment as early as possible from your dermatologist, family physician or pediatrician

• Wear breathable clothing that doesn’t retain sweat or moisture

• Never squeeze, pick or pinch acne pimples

• Follow a consistent daily skin care regimen

Simplify the process – when you look for products, ensure they are:

• Dermatologist-recommended

• Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)

• Non-greasy

• Non-irritating

• Fragrance-free

• Formulated with five per cent benzoyl peroxide, the highest level available without a prescription. This is a water-based, non-drying and proven acne-fighting agent

Products with these attributes are available over-the-counter for easy, stress-free selection. For example, Cetaphil Acne Principles is a simple three-step (cleanse – treat – hydrate) acne-fighting system that is clinically proven to treat mild to moderate acne. The three products are available in a kit format or sold separately, making it easy for users to follow a daily skin care regimen.

Dispelling acne myths

Published by Author under Acne Myths

Myth: Acne is caused by eating candy and greasy food.

Myth: Acne is caused by eating candy and greasy food.

(NC)—Acne. It can be controlled. With a combination of a daily skin care routine and regular consultation with your physician, you can be on your way to clean and healthy skin.

Simply put, acne is the term for plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that can occur on the face, neck, back, shoulders and even the upper arms. It can affect girls and boys during adolescence and can even affect men and women in adulthood.

It’s time to sort out acne myth versus fact once and for all.

Myth #1: The more you wash your face the fewer breakouts you’ll have.

Fact: It’s important to maintain a consistent skin care regimen, but over-washing can cause dryness and exacerbate the condition.

Myth #2: Acne is caused by eating candy and greasy food.

Fact: This is a common belief, but there is no concrete evidence to back it up.

Myth #3: Popping pimples will make them go away faster.

Fact: Actually, popping pimples could potentially spread the problem deeper into your skin and may cause permanent scarring.

Myth #4: Don’t wear make-up if you want clear skin.

Fact: In fact, wearing make-up is fine, providing it’s oil-free and non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) and it is removed in the evening before bedtime.

Myth #5: If breakouts persist, it helps to use more acne medication until the breakouts stop.

Fact: Like over-washing, over-use of acne medication will only irritate your skin by causing more breakouts and drying out the skin. It is important to follow a consistent daily skin care routine that cleanses, treats and moisturizes skin. While there is no quick fix to treat acne, consulting with your physician to determine your best treatment options is the first step.

How to Clear Up Acne Scars

Published by Author under Acne Scars, Featured

Acne Scars – Home Remedies to Clear Up Scars Caused by Acne, Zits Or Pimples

clear-face-optIf you suffer from acne scars and home remedies to clear up scars caused by acne, zits or pimples seems to be your only option than fear not because you may already have several items scattered throughout your kitchen that can significantly improve acne scarring when properly implemented.

The reality is in order to achieve better looking skin and improve upon the condition of your acne scarring you really only need to perform two simple procedures:

1 – Carefully remove the top layer of damaged skin cells by exfoliating your face.

2 – Help your skin to quickly repair itself by pampering it with collagen and through the consumption of moisture building foods.

In order to speed up your skin’s healing process here are 6 home remedies that work at eliminating scars from acne:

Acne Scars Home Remedy #1: Olive Oil

One side effect from acne scarring is that your skin can lose its elastic ability and flexibility. Fortunately a small amount of olive oil gently massaged into your face following an exfoliating session will offer some relief. The nutrients in the olive oil penetrate the skin layers and perform a deep moisturizing of your skin while simultaneously softening up your skin’s texture.

Acne Scars Home Remedy #2: Water Consumption

You’ve probably heard this before but it needs to be said again, your skin needs water in order to promote the repair process that needs to take place in order to heal any acne related scars. The water you drink is used by your skin to replenish your skin cells, flush out any bad toxins and keep your skin looking full and plump. For maximum skin health and effectiveness you should consume at least 80 ounces of water a day.

Acne Scars Home Remedy #3: Lemon Juice

In order to lighten darker acne scars you can cleanse your face with lemon juice. Start by cleaning your acne scars using a cotton swap that has been dipped in a teaspoon of lemon juice. Let this stand for about ten minutes then rinse away. You will need to exercise some caution here based on the fact that lemon juice can leave your skin photosensitive. A preventive measure to counter the effects would be to apply sunscreen on any area that you treat with lemon juice prior to going out into the sun.

Acne Scars Home Remedy #4: Baking Soda

I’ve mentioned that you should regularly exfoliate your skin in order to remove the excess skin layer of dead skin cells. You can go out and purchase a higher priced exfoliation solution or you can stick with using baking soda. In fact, a version of baking soda is routinely used in cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments.

You can perform the same treatment (a mini microdermabrasion) by mixing two teaspoons of filtered water along with a single teaspoon of baking soda. To complete the exfoliation process you would gently rub the mixture on your acne scar for approximately sixty seconds then rinse it off.

Acne Scars Home Remedy #5: Fruits

Fruits work in several ways to improve your skins overall health and condition. First, by providing a source of collagen fortifying vitamin C and second when their acids are used to exfoliate your skin. Pineapple seems to work best based on the amount of ascorbic acid it contains. After smoothing on your face and letting it dry for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse the acid off and your face will appear much brighter and your acne scars will begin to fade.

Acne Scars Home Remedy #6: Dedication and Consistency

Because acne scars take several weeks to form and appear in a series of layers you will need to make use of your acne scars home remedy methods on a daily basis. Take the necessary time to plan your treatment in advance and ensure you make time throughout your day to actually perform the exfoliation and cleaning that is required in order to remove the damaged scar tissue layer by layer.

Perform your treatments routinely and consistently and you will see and experience an improvement in your acne induced scars.

Acne Scar Removal Creams – Which Creams Are Recommended For Treating Scars From Acne

Acne scar removal cream is a good way to help eliminate any scars you may have as a result of acne. These skin clearing creams are normally obtained by consulting with a doctor or dermatologist in order to receive a prescription for the purchase of these products.

Before engaging in the use of any creams or gels that have been formulate to eliminate scars from acne you need to make sure that the scar is not a result of the natural skin color change that takes place after normal treatment for their acne. If this is the case then you will not require any additional topical ointments and the skin will naturally return to its proper color over time.

There are several acne scar removal creams to choose from such as Mederma, which is a gel based medication that has shown promise at removing acne scars. Other more popular creams include ScarGuard Scarcare, a more recent acne scar removal cream which has worked very well at improving acne scars in the shape of saucers.

DermaNew Microdermabrasion Total Body Experience is a cream that is free of any oil and has shown great results when used in conjunction with a Vitamin A derivative in a topical form. Cellex-C is an additional acne scar removal cream that has received high praise and recommendations from a large number of consumers. Like the previous cream, Cellex-C is also used with a topical Vitamin A product in order to achieve the best results.

If by chance, your scars from acne are showing up brown in color then you can use a small amount of bleach with hydroquinone combined with any of the previously mentioned acne scar removal cream products.

Naturally, there are several other techniques and methods which can be used to reduce the appearance of your acne scars but the pimple fighting products mentioned in this article all make a good starting choice for clearer skin.

Acne Fighting Tips That Work – How to Get Rid of Acne Pimples Almost Overnight

Published by Author under Acne

face-washing-skin-care-300x200How to get rid of acne pimples almost overnight has become a major concern for many people who value the appearance of their skin and want to always have a clear complexion free from zits while out in the public. Let’s be honest, no one really wants to wake up with a blackhead or whitehead on their face. Fortunately, there are a few quick and easy ways to free your face from a nasty acne breakout.

A clean face starts with a simple washing to remove any excess oils or dirt that may be covering the pores of your skin. You want to focus on using a face cleanser that is salicylic acid based and when washing your face be sure to use a gentle motion in order to avoid aggravating or irritating your skin, especially the infected area. After washing, your next step is to pat your face down dry with a clean towel. Again, avoid scrubbing your face dry and instead use a blotting type of action where you pat your face dry.

After thoroughly cleaning your face you should get an ice pack from your freezer and place it on the pimple or pimples for about 10 to 15 minutes. Next, remove the ice pack for 60 seconds then place by on the zits for 2 minutes. Continue to perform this procedure (60 seconds of no contact followed by 2 minutes of contact0 for about 15 minutes.

Once you have completed the ice pack routine you will need to apply some toothpaste (gel format) onto the actual pimples. Only a small amount is required for this to work and it needs to be left on the acne overnight. In the morning rinse your face with warm water followed by a cold rinse.

For me personally, in nearly every instance I performed this method on a zit I was able to get rid of the pimples almost overnight. For years I was an acne sufferer but I was fortunate because I found a solution that cleared my face up and eliminated all of my acne. You can have acne free skin now using the same solution!

Using acne free skin solutions your zits will disappear and your acne prone skin will clear up. Visit http://www.acnefreeskinsolutions.com to learn how to eliminate your pimples today!

Home Remedies for Acne – Cheap But Effective Ways to Get Rid of Acne

toothpasteMany people are now looking towards natural home remedies for acne, instead of off-the-shelf products to get rid of their acne problems. This is understandable since it is both convenient and economical to do so at home. Before we go straight into any home remedy for acne, let’s take a look at some of the simple things to do to complement our acne home remedies.

Proper vitamin supplement intakes, lots of water and regular exercise will help to detoxify our bodies, and improve our skin condition. This will work hand in hand with the following cheap but effective home remedies for acne:

1. Did you know that your toothpaste can help to reduce the swelling of your pimples? Apply some before you sleep and you will see the immediate effect the next morning.

2. Mix lemon juice with rose water. One lemon with same proportion of rose water will do. Apply it on your face and rinse it only after 30 mins. Constantly doing so will not only get rid of acne and pimples, but it also has the effect of lightening the skin blemishes.

3. Use fresh mint juice to apply on your face.

4. Strawberry leaves can also help to reduce the pimple swelling.

5. Orange peel can also be used. Basically, you need to mash it or blend it, mix with some water to form a paste before applying on your problem area.

6. Mix turmeric powder with some mint juice before applying on the acne. Wash it off with clean, lukewarm water after about 30 mins.

7. Even cooking condiments such as vinegar and salt have their uses as home remedies for acne. Mix the two together, before rubbing the mix over the pimples. Leave it there for some 10 to 20 mins before removing with lukewarm water.

8. Make a paste with cucumber before using it as a facial mask. Leave the mask on for 30 mins daily. Doing this will prevent acne from breaking out.

9. If you can tolerate the smell of garlic on your face, then go ahead to apply some fresh garlic on the pimples. They will disappear after repeated applications.

10. Even the milk that you drink is useful as a home remedy for acne. Blend nutmeg with milk and you have a powerful paste to zap those pimples away.

While these have worked for many folks who tried them, it does not guarantee it will work for some people.

Keep Your Skin Zit Free With Alternative Acne Treatments That Work

Published by Author under Acne Treatment

skin-care-optIf you wake up with acne marks all over your face, it is high time to take some actions. After all, you cannot afford to meet your boyfriend while you are pock-marked. He will take one look at you and scoot! You will forever rue the fact that you did not take the immediate action to make your face more lively and beautiful by removing the blemishes with alternative acne treatments that work.

If you had taken prescriptions before that did not work, and you are now looking for some medications that come without the side effects that otherwise could make you look more like a hideous Frankenstein, then it is time to go for some alternative treatments.

• But if you decide to proceed with these treatments, you must know that these procedures are not regulated by the FDA, and therefore, you will not be able to find any medical doctors who can talk to you about this issue. You will have to go to the alternative medical communities for gathering information.

• Acne in the female body occurs because of unbalance in the androgen hormone levels. Excessive androgen causes more sebrum production, which clogs up hair follicles and thus acne starts to breed. This process is undone with the help of certain herbs like red clover, wild yam, dong quai, chaste berry, evening primrose and black cohosh, which the herbalist believes helps to balance the female estrogen hormone levels that then automatically counterbalances the level of androgen in the body.

• There are certain herbs like licorice, burdock, dandelion root and Echinacea that can reduce infection and inflammation that can treat both female and male acne. There are herbs like red peony and salvia that help in killing off the bacteria and also allow the skin to heal up faster.

• The pantothenic acid or the Vitamin B5 is another medication that is used to fight acne. Dr. Leung in Hong Kong was the first one to publish a paper on its effective uses and how the people suffering from a deficiency in vitamins are the ones liable to get affected by acne. He had put his theories to test in a clinic where about a hundred people suffering from acne were given 10 g of Vitamin B5 daily. After six months, the result became a 90% success.

• Tea tree oil from the tea tree in Australia and seaweed in oceans is used in Tropical treatments and are quite useful in reducing and healing acne infection and inflammation.

• Moreover, acne is also said to be caused from living an unhealthy lifestyle. You need to bust your stress life first before you can use alternative treatments that work to get the perfect glowing skin. You can join a yoga class and even go for aromatherapy, acupuncture or meditation to relieve your stress and become healthy.

• It is true that you can go for these alternative acne treatments because the traditional medications are always associated with harmful side effects. But these methods are not 100% risk free. It is better that you talk about these procedures with as many people as you can to get a feedback regarding the results. You have to maintain caution, or things could easily turn worse.

Your skin is a beautiful part of your body, and you must take utmost care of it to see that it glows every day! So be careful while you take your decisions regarding the alternative treatments that work, and then proceed.

For years I was an acne sufferer but I was fortunate because I found a solution that cleared my face up and eliminated all of my acne. You can have acne free skin now using the same solution!

Clear, Beautiful Skin – Understanding the Steps to Acne-Free Skin

Acne sufferers really want only one thing – clear beautiful skin. They’ll try all kinds of products – from lotions, washes, preparations and ointments to pills, supplements and alternative therapies, in the hunt for acne-free skin. But the key to obtaining that perfect skin starts out with a solid understanding of the causes of acne. Eradicate the causes of your acne and you can say goodbye to pimple woes and hello to beautiful, clear and glowing skin.

There are a lot of commercial, herbal, and homeopathic treatments for acne available on the market today, and many fail to deliver on their promises of super-model skin. It is wise to ask your doctor or dermatologist before using any of these for the first time, or at the very least, take the time to research the ingredients on the label.

Common Treatments:

Herbs are great for reducing redness as well as preventing the development of scars which can remain after the acne heals. Echinacea and poke root can be used for their anti-inflammatory attributes to reduce redness. Witch hazel has been used for many years due to its ability to act as an astringent.

Retin-A and alpha hydroxy acids have been utilised to treat acne as well as to heal and prevent future acne outbreaks. Two common ingredients in over-the-counter acne medications are glycolic and lactic acids, which act to get rid of dead skin cells. You should always check the label and read any directions about a product prior to using it. Some acne products are not safe to use during pregnancy, therefore be cautious about preparations you are applying if you are pregnant or believe that you may become pregnant while taking the treatments.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) may be applied on all skin types and are effective cleansers to use for healing and for acne prevention. They’re natural acids which come from fruits, milk sugars and plants. AHAs work by getting rid of the dead layer of skin so that you can experience the newer layer of skin underneath – very much like facials.

An unnatural rate of oil production which can result in big irritated bumps that conceal pustules underneath the surface of the skin is a condition called cystic acne. This ailment can last for a very long time. If you suspect that you could have cystic acne, please make an appointment with your doctor or dermatologist.

Harsh and/or abrasive skin products can actually make your acne worse so keep your distance from any skin product that you cannot pronounce. Natural remedies are becoming far more popular mainly because they are mild and cause no harm to the skin.

Take a good look around your place of employment to make certain there are no air-borne irritants which might be causing your acne.

Healthy skin is sustained by a diet which is rich in fruits, whole grains, plenty of water and fresh vegetables. To be healthy, your skin needs you to get plenty of rest, exercise and make every effort to cut down the stress in your life. Doing all you can do to help your skin remain healthy will also allow it to be acne free.

While you’re waiting to heal, you can hide acne breakouts by using a complementary-tone foundation (makeup) that is oil-free or water-based. Be sure that you take off this makeup prior to going to bed.

If you would like to regain and maintain acne free skin you should follow a daily skin regimen. This regimen should include: cleansing your skin at least twice a day (more if really oily) with a mild cleanser and clean water, pore unclogging techniques (strips, facials), getting rid of oil from your face with an astringent or by cleansing, staying stress-free, and eating a nutritious diet which includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plenty of water (at least 8 – 8 oz. glasses each day).Regular exercise is also important for healthy skin.

Take these steps for good skincare and you’ll minimize the occurrence of acne and discover clearer, more beautiful skin.

Diet and Acne

Published by Author under Acne & Diet, Acne Treatment

There has been an ogoing debate over whether or not diet has an affect on acne breakouts.  One camp believes that you can have all the chocolate and french fries you want and it won’t affect the amount of acne you have while another says that diet can make a world of different in clearing up your skin.

Well Jennifershmoo over at Vegan Lunch Box just posted that while going vegan wasn’t enough to clear her skin up, ridding her diet of sugar, white flour, and oil and adding more fruits and vegetables was enough to do the trick!

If you’ve had any experience with acne and your diet, let us know – sometimes these anecdotal stories can be of more help than all of the theories that abound!

Acne Care Best Prevention Against Breakouts

Published by Author under Acne

Those who suffer from frequent acne breakouts may be best served by practicing appropriate acne care to prevent them from occurring rather than battling an outbreak after is happens. There are many different possible causes for acne, including hormonal imbalances and stress as well as clothing that is too tight that tends to hold sweat and other bodily oils tight to the skin. Essentially, acne care involves insuring the sebum from the sebaceous glands does not have the chance to mix with dead cells and form a block in the pores, which becomes visible in the form of acne.

While there are some long-held beliefs about certain foods contributing to the outbreaks of acne, science has not been able to find a connection. Additionally, acne care is not something that only those going through puberty or other hormonal chances need to worry about. Acne knows no age limit and is not gender specific. It can attack people of any age unless appropriate acne care is exercised.

Sweating from rigorous exercise, especially if confined with tight clothing can add to the potential for an acne breakout. Showering immediately after an exercise session can lessen the chances of an outbreak. However, good acne care also includes exfoliating the dead skin cells from the surface, followed up with a moisturizer to help the dried skin from flaking and causing additional acne troubles.

Proper Cleansing Requires More Than Soap And Water

Despite what many people do to avoid acne breakouts, they still suffer repeated problems, as many times it could be the soap they use. Many deodorant soaps, and even the drier sheets used in the laundry, can contribute to acne outbreaks regardless of the efforts for acne care. Many types of make up can also add more unwanted oils to the skin, and can contribute to additional problems with skin acne.

Using a five percent solution of benzoyl peroxide on sensitive areas of the skin, 10 percent on areas where the skin is thicker is usually recommended for acne care. However, this solution can dry out the skin and cause irritation so following its use with an oil-free moisturizer can help keep the skin looking and feeling better. For persons with persistent acne problems, who find that normal acne care products have no affect on their skin, may have to visit a dermatologist for professional help with their acne care. Stronger topical medications are available and in some rare cases, prescription antibiotics may be prescribed.

Acne Scar Home Remedy: Water, Baking Soda And Lemons Can Do The Job

Published by Author under Acne

If plastic surgery is not your cup of tea as far as removing acne scars goes, you need to look for some simple acne scar home remedies that can provide you with very pleasing results – provided you go about it in the proper manner. Acne scarring is something that everybody hates, but for which only a few can find the right solution.

Dark Acne Scars

The simplest acne scar home remedy is using lemons which are especially effective in treating dark acne scars. Lemon is able to lighten the color of the dark scars and just by applying a teaspoon of lemon juice for ten minutes you can get rid of your acne scars. However, because lemon juice can also cause photosensitivity in the skin, using it with utmost caution is recommended.

Another alternative acne scar home remedy that is worth trying out is to use baking soda that is very effective in exfoliating the skin. In this type of acne scar home remedy, you need to mix a teaspoon of baking soda with double that quantity of filtered water and the mixture has then to be rubbed gently on the acne scar for about a minute.

Once you are done exfoliating your skin with the help of baking soda, you can try a third acne scar home remedy which is to use olives. Just a very minute amount of olive oil should be massaged on the face which is enough to re-moisturize the skin as well as give the skin some much needed elasticity as well as suppleness.

Fruits too can be used as another effective acne scar home remedy as they are known to contain Vitamin C that helps in building collagen. Instead of eating the fruit, you have to smear some on the face gently and before long, you will find that this acne scar home remedy has helped in exfoliating as well as brightening the skin.

Perhaps the best acne scar home remedy is water which can help the skin in repairing it, and it is most effective in treating acne scars. The more water that the skin gets, the plumper will it become, while other uses of water include helping in the removal of toxins and building of fresh skin cells.

If you are looking for a natural acne scar remedy, look no further than Rosehip Seed Oil which has widely been used in cosmetics and which has also proven to be very effective in reducing scars caused by acne.

The best way of ensuring the effectiveness of an acne scar home remedy is by planning well in advance, devoting enough time to removing scarred skin and by consuming plenty of nutrients to ensure that your skin remains healthy.

The Process of Finding the Right Acne Product for You

Published by Author under Acne

Finding the right acne product is not always as easy as you would think. After all, each and every day there are new and more innovative acne products being released onto the market, and so you really need to keep your eyes and ears open to make sure you always know just what is out there.

There are also a few important steps that you are going to need to take if you want to find the right acne care products for you. Remember that everyone is different, and so just because a particular product works well for someone you know, this is does not at all mean that the same product will work the same for you, so don’t get your hopes up.

Talk to a Dermatologist

The first thing that anyone looking for an effective acne product should do is speak to a dermatologist. This is important because they will be able to assess your acne condition and determine how severe it is, figure out what skin type you have, and from this offer you valuable information on which acne products are going to be the best for you.

The Use Of An Anti Acne Diet

Published by Author under Acne

Acne is a common problem especially for those who are just experiencing puberty. This skin condition is brought about by the combination of hormonal changes and bodily shifts which are aggravated with an improper diet and poor hygiene. One thing that you need to have when you experience can is an anti acne diet with which you need to stick to help improve your skin condition.

An anti acne diet would be a diet which will help to lessen the effects of puberty and improper hygiene. There are actually many things in an anti acne diet that should be followed even by those who are not suffering from acne. These things should also be complemented by the right kind of hygiene and care for your skin. This is because the said skin condition can be aggravated by the touch of grimy or dirty hands and exposure to dust.

Since the skin condition is the result of clogged pores, the anti acne diet will work best if you refrain from overly touching your face and also applying too much make up. Many types of make up can actually contribute to clogged pores which is why the wearing of make up should be avoided if you are experiencing a rise in your pimple breakouts. Make up can also trigger breakouts and blemishes.

Things To Omit From An Anti Acne Diet

Some of the food stuffs that one should omit from your anti acne diet includes foods which are high in fats, oils and grease. These foods may be naturally rich in fat or may have been cooked with grease and oils. The problem with these oily and greasy foods is that our body does not need a lot of oils and grease and also fats. This should be considered when thinking of an anti acne diet. Many believe that the oils and grease from fast foods and other fried foods will add to the rising problems regarding the skin condition that usually appears in puberty.  Processed carbohydrates and sugars should also be avoided to ease the frequency of the breakouts associated with acne.

Things To Include In An Anti Acne Diet

An anti acne diet should have high fiber fruits and vegetables to help ease the passage of the bowels. Irregular bowel movement encourages toxins to build in our body thus creating skin breakouts and blemishes. Natural grains are also great as sources of fiber.

Creating your very own anti acne diet can end up with satisfactory results if you follow the diet closely and accompany the diet with exercise and proper hygiene.

It can definitely be difficult to decide on an acne treatment product, because after all there are literally thousands of different acne care treatment products out there today. Especially if you have never shopped for an acne treatment product before, you will no doubt find it quite confusing and possibly even overwhelming.

You want to make sure that you find the best acne care treatment product for you, and this is going to require you following a couple of important steps.

Determine Your Skin Type

Before you do anything towards finding an acne care treatment product, you want to determine what type of skin you have. You can do this quite easily, by washing your face and patting it dry. Then you want to take a small piece of toilet paper and place it somewhere on your t-zone.

If the toilet paper falls off right away you have dry skin, if it sticks on to your face you have oily skin, and if it stays on for a minute and then falls off you have normal to combination skin. This is an important step to take because you will need to know what skin type you have before you can figure out which products are going to work best for you.

How Serious is Your Acne?

To find the best acne care treatment product for you, the next step is going to be for you to determine how serious your acne is. If you only get a few pimples a month your acne is quite mild, whereas if you are breaking out every day your acne is more severe and will need more serious treatment.

Find a Product

Now you get to actually go out and find an acne care treatment product. Take some time to check out the different products that are on the shelves and see what is going to work for your skin type and the severity of your acne.

Keep in mind that you will probably have to try out a few different products before you find anything that offers you the results you are looking for. Some people try out tons of different products and do not see any improvement in their acne. If you fall into this category, you should know that there are still options available. The acne surgery for instance is a very effective procedure which works even on the most stubborn acne.

What Not To Include In An Acne Diet

Published by Author under Acne

Acne is a skin condition that usually occurs around puberty. There are many causes of acne but the most apparent is the hormonal changes that children go through as their bodies mature into adolescents. Acne commonly occurs on the adolescent’s face but there are also some cases of acne appearing on the chest and on the back of the individual. There are many different ways to lessen the flare ups of acne, one of which is to go on an acne diet.

Cause of Acne

The combination of hormonal shifts and bodily changes that older children go through are among the factors that contribute to acne eruptions. Staying on an acne diet can help to reduce the risk of getting too much acne. The reason why an acne diet should be followed is to prevent the scars of too much acne from marring one’s face. Other causes of acne may include a lack of proper hygiene, improper diet and sometimes a condition which you may have inherited from your line of the family.

What To Avoid

An acne diet must not contain oily, greasy and fatty foods. It is quite easy to see which foods can aggravate an acne problem since oily, greasy and fatty foods are very apparent both to the eyes and the taste buds. Some of the not so apparent oily and fatty foods should be avoided as well. Mayonnaise, eggs and some salad dressings are also included in the foods to avoid in an acne diet.   Not all acne diets are acne cure diets. An acne diet will just reduce the amount of foods that can aggravate your case of acne. The diet just acts to lessen the acne.

Some nuts are not as healthy as you may think. These nuts which are full of oil and fats and should be reduced in an acne diet include almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts and pistachio nuts. Other food items to be reduced or excluded from an acne diet are dairy items and sweets which contain a lot of sugar. Sugar has been noted to increase the presence of acne; therefore, an acne diet should not have too much sugar if there is to be some at all.

Sticking to an effective acne diet can drastically reduce the presence of acne although the other factors that cause acne should still be considered to reduce it. Having acne can make one self conscious which is why each individual needs to know how to take care of it.

Understanding Body Acne Helps Lead To Clearer Skin

Published by Author under Acne

Most people believe that once they get through puberty they will seldom see break outs of acne, but reality can be a source of frustration for many adults as they contend with this unsightly problem throughout their adult life. In addition to the usual spots on the face and neck, body acne can be a source of embarrassment as well as uncomfortable when rubbed and irritated by clothing. In addition to the usual causes of acne such as stress, hormones and menstrual cycles, body acne can be caused by sweat and tight-fitting clothing as well.

Acne, regardless of its location is caused by a build up of sebum, the glands that provide moisture to the skin’s surface. When it mixes with dead skin cells or other dirt on the surface, it blocks the pores through which the sebum travels to the surface, causing body acne. Typically, people are used to seeing acne on faces and necks, but it may not be until they get to the beach in the bathing suit that they reveal body acne on shoulders, back, legs and even their butt.

People who exercise rigorously exercise in tight clothing may be more prone to outbreaks of body acne than others as their work out causes them to sweat, which is then help against the skin by their choice of clothing. In most cases, simple steps for acne care can reduce the outbreaks and help achieve clearer skin.

Prevention Is Best Cure For Acne

While some people suffer more severely from body acne than others, there are steps that can be taken to help reduce the frequency of out breaks. Some of the information from a generation or two ago about avoiding certain types of food has not been proven to have any basis in science, but healthy eating provides better health in other areas. Exfoliating the skin can have the biggest impact in the fight against body acne but there may some spots more difficult to reach.

The skin on the back and legs is thicker than on the face so a five to 10 percent cream of benzoyl peroxide is usually able to be used in the fight against body acne without irritating the skin. In addition, these areas require exfoliating to remove dead skin cells, followed with a moisturizer to maintain the skin’s softness. Avoid wearing tight clothing, especially when exercising and shower or take a bath soon after the work out to prevent the extra sweat from contributing to body acne.
